Hi,

Green speed measured by using Stimpmeter...benda ni di letak kat green 20 degree above the ground..pastu golek bola ke green...kalau bola berenti 11 feet then, laju green = 11...lebih kurang camtu la...

20 degree tapi height berapa..? kalau height lagi tinggi walau degree yang sama diffrent speed the ball rolls.. sebab mass of ball x gravity (9.81m/s) x height = Force, the higher starting point~ the greater force, means the faster speed of ball.. macam belajar fizik form 4 pulak bab 2, halaju!!

Tu dia tok guru fizik suma dah kluar fatwa...is it my qustion too technical...hahaha...,
ada tak teknik masa nk putting on green,so nk putt laju ker or slow ker...saya rasa kelajuan bola atas green memainkn peranan gak..."wet or dry" condition...especially bila long putt..nk antor bola ke lubang tue..hehehe...

A stimpmeter is a device that measures the speed of a green. The Stimpmeter is an extruded aluminum bar, 36 inches long, with a V-shaped groove extending along its entire length. It has a precisely milled ball-release notch 30" from the tapered end (the end that rests on the ground). The underside of the tapered end is milled away to reduce bounce as a rolling ball makes contact with the green. The V-shaped groove has an included angle of 145 degrees, thereby supporting a golf ball at two points ½" apart. A ball rolling down the groove has a slight overspin, which is thoroughly consistent and has no deleterious effect on the ensuing measurments. The ball-release notch is designed so that a ball will always be released and start to roll when the Stimpmeter is raised to an angle of approximately 20 degrees. This feature ensures that the velocity of the ball will always be the same when it reaches the tapered end.

The end result from the ball accelerating down the stimpmeter ramp is a speed of 6.00 ft/s. The distance that the ball travels is the stimp speed (i.e. 10.5 ft roll means a stimp speed of 10.5)

Thank You Pakudin on the info.. tapi rasa nya masa kita main kita tak boleh test speed dengan roll kan bola atas green dgn tangan... so that's why practse round is very important..!! ;) ;) ;)

Kawe pulok, pasal greeng speed ni, kawe tengok green pertamo. Klu ketok tapi tak gi jugok, lubang ke 2 kawe ketok kuak sikik. Macam tu lah seteruhnye.

By the way, yg pro pro dan tak pro tapi main seminggu 8-10 kali tu, depa dengar mention kelab mana pun depa tau dah nak ketuk kuat mana.

Klu bukit jalil, ketuk kuat sikit. Klu PD Golf, ketuk kuat banyak. Klu Impian or Kota Permai or Tropicana, depa tolak je, Klu kat Maktab Tentera, ketuk kuat camna pun bola akan lompat sana lompat sini.

Tq Pakudin and Dzulamor for info, so makna kata apa2 no green speed yg tubik kt golf club tak memberi makn sgt ler or 90% boleh ditimbang tara...sbb spt zainol ckp kita xleh speed ngan rollkn bola ats green...
tak gitu....ada pendapatan yg nak dijelaskan lagiii...
tp klu speed nk ke "lobang" 19....aaa lu pikir laaa sendiri...huahuahua....

kalau aku, green speed ni ada 3 jerr....laju (sebab baru lepas potong n roll), biasa dan slow (dah lama tak potong)..so lubang pertama determine lubang2 yang seterusnya.
