For me, the cheaper the better... I go round to my uncles and friends, collecting any clubs that they don't use anymore and cantum to be 1 set  ;D

Besides, don't score well enuf to justify spending thousands on just 1 club... sakit hati beb

oklah tu kalau ada uncle2 & kekawan yg ada murah hati nak sedekahkan clubs, tapi skrg second sets pun byk yg murah2, yg bagus2 .. cuma bkn yg terbaru ajalah .. nak dpt satu complete set yg bagus pun taklah sampai beribu.. kekadang 300-400 ratus pun ley dpt..
Kalau ada golf sale pun bole dpt murah ... the other time kat transview, irons selling for RM50 a piece, tapi lesser known brands lah, still ok pe!

For me, I got a used set .. adalah kena dlm RM500 complete + bag + fairway wood ngn driver jenis lama. Driver & wood tu - taktau brand jenis apa.. Nak bubuh kat sini pun segan  ;D tapi for my level of game kira OKlah..

Thinking of upgrading when my game improves!  ;)

My bag? lagi laaa mengarut  hehehe

All Wilson clubs.... coz I bought a beginner set.. brand new though.

Irons 5,6,7,8,9
Woods 1,3
Hybrids 3,4
Putter
Pitcher
Sand

I have tried different clubs (from friends) over the course of few months since I started golfing, sure enough... better clubs can deliver better shot/distance, provided we have mastered the basics at least.

Having said that, my driver is the most problematic. So much so, that I opted for my hybrid in place of my driver in my last game.... and it worked rather good though. total 105. But long way to go laa hehehe

BTW, is it better to buy a better set comprises of one brand or mixed brands? Any thoughts ?

So what clubs are you having in your golf bag?

Me? ..... I'm having quite an assortment of clubs. My irons & putter - Kinda hand-me-down, I bought them real cheap from a friend when I first started a year back & they're quite dated (from the mid 1990s I guess), but seems to serve their purpose for now. My driver is also used coz my driving is really off so no point in investing in a new driver now. They rest of my clubs were bought new.

What I have:-

1. Driver - Taylor Made XR-05
2. 3 wood - Maruman Shuttle
3. 5 wood - Maruman Shuttle
4. Hybrid - Perry Gear 21 degrees
5. Hybrid - Perry Gear 25 degrees
6. Irons 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,PW & AW - Maruman Verity EZ
7. SW - Paragon
8. LW 60 degrees - Power Blitz
8. Chipper - Perry Gear (hehehe! .. tell tale signs of how my short game is?)
9. Putter - Ping

The 14 clubs that I usually have in my Bag:

1. Driver
2. 3 wood
3. 5 wood
4. Hybrid 21 degrees
5. 5 iron
6. 6 iron
7. 7 iron
8. 8 iron
9. 9 iron
10. PW
11. AW
12. SW
13. Chipper
14. Putter

St'ngah golfer bilang, kurang macho lah kalau pakai chipper, tapi pada saya apa beza nya pakai chipper ngn seorg tu yg pakai hybrid clubs utk gantikan 3 & 4 irons? Ataupun yg pakai driver jenis "draw" utk golfer yg slalu slice bola diaorg?

Memang chipper ni dikatakan storke saver tapi seperti club2 lain, kena belajar nak pakai gak, tak kalu .... sama gak akibat nya...

Saya pun baru je nak adjust ngn chipper ni ... dia punya loft sama ngn 7-iron tapi dia pendek macam putter, jadi sepatutnya lagi senang nak guna lah kot ... tapi jgn "top" lah pulak, kang dia punya jalan cam tak ingat nak benti... hehehe!!!

Setengah org kata pukul chipper ni cam guna putter-style stroke, ada yg kata pulak guna cam "chip & putt" ngn 7,8 or 9 iron ... aku rasa mana2 style pun boleh, ikut hang punya feel camne .. short game lah katakan ..feelgood feeling tu mesti ada.. hehehe!!!

Kalau aku, aku akan guna chipper ni luar apron, dekat2 green .. kalau approach kpd green tu flat & not elevated sgt... aku guna cam chip & run ... itu aku lah, kalau org lain aku tak tau.

Tapi aku sebenarnya setakat ni tak slalu sgt guna chipper ni sbb blom dpt "feel" dia lagi .. blom bole nak agak sgt ... so skali skala je guna chipper, yg slalu aku pakai ..PW aku...

Aku rasa kalau hang dah bole master chipper ni, senang pastu hang nak chip & run guna 7,8 ataupun 9 iron...

Huwallahualam bisawab ... Wabillahi hi taufik wal hidayah!
Majulah sukan utk negara!

Helloo bro, that was many moons ago .. in golf anything can happen.

Yesterday, over at Golf Channel I watched Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer & this Spanish golfer "Olaga ... something" ... played against this other Spanish golfer ranked 151st who had to go back to Q school again bcoz he lost his card.  Mamat yg ranked 151st ni sapu semua ...  ;)

Manalah tau! hang ni memang ada natural-born swing and talent for golf ... or you've been practising ... secret training ke?   ;D ;D ;D

Bro,

Natural-born? Definitely not la.
Talent? Sure no.
Practising? Definitely.
Secret training? Mana ade such thing hehehe .

If any of KakiGolfers lives around Bandar Kinrara, you should see me at the Kinrara Golf Club driving range every now and then, mostly night time laa. Usually twice a week, usually Friday and Saturday but can be any day too. Then I play real golf every now and then (usually weekend) at PDGCC or Danau (free for PDGCC members).

Oh BTW, do you know PDGCC now has membership offer for just RM2800. I think good bro. Go check it out. (I dont get anything promoting this, but maybe another golf buddy if you join hehehe)

And, how to recognize me at the KGC driving range? Easy ma, I would normally go there with my 7 year old daughter. So if you see a guy with a Wilson beginner set and a little kid with her own Wilson kid-set, most probably that's me hahaha. Come and say hello OK.

Cheers...

This is new membership.. no transfer fee kut. Monthly fee about RM70+. Food... kira ok laa.. not the best but not the worst also.... depends on individual I guess. Additional benefit... discounted room rate for members at the apartment.

The affiliated clubs ade quite a few around Klang Valley. For PDGCC members, playing golf at Monterez is free on weekdays and 50% discount on weekend. Any taker?

Is there a limit as to how many times you can play at these affiliated clubs? And do you need a letter from PDGCC to give to these affiliated clubs each time you wanna play there? Or do you only need to present your membership card?
