South Korean Jin Young Ko successfully defended her HSBC Women's World Championship title at the Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore, joining compatriot In-bee Park as the only two-time winners of the Championship.

The 27-year-old, whose 2022 season was derailed by a wrist injury and poor form after her outstanding "come-from-behind" win at the Sentosa Golf Club last year, carded a three-under-par 69 to finish 17 under 271, two strokes ahead of American Nelly Korda, to capture her first victory on the LPGA Tour since 2022’s event. Korda shot 69 to finish solo second.

“Obviously a little disappointed with today,” Korda said. “Didn’t play really well but kind of didn’t really battle as much as I wanted to. I just made a couple kind of silly mistakes here and there.” Korda, who started her round with birdies on the 3rd, 4th and 5th holes, just couldn’t make up enough strokes even though she birdied the 18th. She finished two back at 15 under.

A trio consisting of Americans Danielle Kang and Allisen Corpuz as well as Japan's Ayaka Furue finished tied for third at 14-under 274 after the rain-interrupted final round.

This was Ko’s fourth appearance at the HSBC Women’s World Championship and her 14th career LPGA Tour victory.

The LPGA Tour is now off for a couple of weeks before it resumes at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Gold Canyon, Ariz., on March 23-26.
